FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I really cancel anytime?

Absolutely. We are all about building a valuable relationship with you and your website, so we'd hate to see you go but we don’t want to lock anyone in. Please request a cancellation via email to ck@flyingokole.com, and we will immediately stop the next payment.

 

How does billing work?

Your Credit Card or PayPal account will be charged automatically at the start of each month.

Once payment is complete, we send an invoice PDF directly to your email.

Can I use my own web host?

Absolutely! Although we prefer that you use one of our recommended providers, we'll review your web hosting platform and talk to your hosting company to make sure everything is up to par.

If you would like to move your website over to FLYING 'OKOLE Hosting, we offer migration for a one-time fee of $250.

What happens if my website goes down, is hacked, breaks, etc.?

The whole purpose of a Website Care Plan is preventative care. We work hard to prevent anything from happening. However if something does happen and your website needs emergency care we will be there, right by your website's side, communicating with the web hosting company on your behalf.

We cannot promise your website will not be hacked but can promise we will do everything in our power to prevent it, as well as assist in the restoration and cleanup of your website with one of our backups.

What tasks are included in the dedicated support time?

Content updates and small design improvements are the most common requests, however any task that can fit into your monthly support time is free game. Requests for new features to your website will likely result in a formal quote as those requests commonly go over the monthly dedicated time.

Does monthly support time rollover?

No. Each month you are provided the same amount of support time. If you do not use your allocated support time within a given month, this support time does not rollover to the next month. Your monthly support time is the equivalent to having a webmaster on a monthly retainer, reserving your place in our queue.

What is your current hourly rate?

When quoting work we provide a fixed price estimate before getting started so you can budget effectively.
However in some cases we use hourly billing, when the work is customized or the scope is not fully known, to give you more flexibility.

Our standard hourly rate is $125/hr.

Do you charge tax?

Products or services rendered to businesses or Clients geographically in the State of Hawaii will be charged Hawaii General Excise Tax (4.166%).

How do "Unlimited Content Updates" work?

You simply send an email to support@flyingokole.com with clear instructions about the content you want to change and we get straight to work and let you know when it's done - usually by the next business day.

Content updates include any text or image change that will take us 30 minutes or less. This typically covers things like adding a testimonial, updating information, or adding a new event to your website.

These tasks do not cover advanced or custom features like adding an online shop or a membership section.

What if I need more hours of support time?

We evaluate your support requests to approximate how much support time your requests will take. We'll notify you if your support requests exceed the scope of your support plan and with your approval, we will complete your requests at our current rate of $125/hr. If you have a larger task that requires a substantial amount of time beyond your support time, we will submit a quote for you to approve separately.

 

How do consulting calls work?

Email is our preferred form of communication because it's efficient and yields the fastest response. However, brainstorming and reviewing visual work can be best accomplished over the phone or on a video call (we use Google Hangouts).

These consulting calls are reserved for clients on our Improve and Elevate Care Plans. These calls focus on further improvements and a trajectory of growth for your business and website. These sessions are useful for online screen-sharing, small updates, or providing training.

You simply book your consultation via our online calendar and we'll be ready with the agenda to make the most out of our call.

Do I have to supply content for the Content Creation Package every month?

Yes. You know your business and customers better than anyone. Therefore we rely on you to send us a variety of content we can extract storylines from. The content you send us can be a link, latest news about your company, photos or videos you captured, an article you found interesting, a YouTube video, or a blog post from other sites that embody the style you desire. Once we create the posts, we will get your approval and then schedule them out for the next 30 days.

My website was not built by FLYING 'OKOLE, can I still be on a client plan?

Yes! Although these plans are for sites we build or re-design, we welcome new clients who are looking for a long-term relationship with a dedicated webmaster.

First we become familiar with your website. We perform a WordPress Tune-up in order to: 1. understand how it was built and 2. assess any potential issues that can arise. This WordPress Tune-up includes a full backup of your website, scans for broken links, WordPress software and plugin updates, and most importantly a list of issues that need to be fixed. We will provide suggestions for improvements to your website that are necessary in order to proceed with a Monthly Care Plan. Our WordPress Tune-up includes 2 hours of support, design, & development time to help fix any issues & install key recommendations.

Our WordPress Tune-up is a fixed investment of $500.
