THE BRIEF
Faux Paws Wholesome Pet Shop is an amazing boutique pet shop offering carefully selected nutritious and delicious foods, unique toys, a wealth of information, and fun accessories for your beloved pets. The owners, Nikki and Sue, needed a website refresh and approached us to create a bright and playful site to reflect the unique personality of their business. They specifically wanted their website to inspire people to visit their store vs. facilitating online sales.
THE APPROACH
We worked closely with Nikki and Sue to create a colorful website that embodies the warm welcoming and thoughtful energy of their store. We knew from the start that Nikki was not a big fan of "scrolling" in order to find information, so with that in mind we built an interactive html5 site within the main landing page of the WordPress framework. We expanded upon their color pallet, incorporated youthful fonts, and added playful graphics. This website is personality driven so we added the smiling faces of their family pets (Sweet Pea, Otis, and Lulu) which definitely adds extra love and a personal touch.
THE RESULT
Faux Paws Wholesome Pet Shop opens with Nikki smiling and greeting you behind the counter of her store. Her bright, friendly personality sets the tone. The framework for this website is the architecture of the store itself - the purple door becomes an entry point (a navigational menu) while the window displays the coresponding story. The mouse cursor turns into a tennis ball which provides a playful "go fetch" approach to the navigation of the website. Their website has resulted in more people visiting their store.
